Off to the World Expeditions Everest 60th Anniversary Dinner.. in Nepal!

I have the great honour to be one of the three speakers at the World Expeditions black tie banquet dinner at 3867m in Thyangboche to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the first ascent of Mt Everest by Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary.

Thyangboche Monastery in 1984

Celebrations for the guests who took part in the treks converging on Thyangboche at the end of May include receiving blessings from Rimpoche in front of the Monastery, and beside the sumptuous dinner that will be served, Lhapka Nuru, Greg Mortimer and myself will be speaking about our experiences on and .. off Everest. There will also be a tribute to Lincoln Hall, Sue Fear and Sir Edmund Hillary. I am bringing my dancing shoes, as no Sherpa celebration ends without some serious dancing!

After the celebrations, I will be walking down to Lura for meetings with the women from the Beyond the Smile Program. It is time to plan future actions! Please spread the word about the documentary crowd funding, the more people are part of the story, the better chances we have to bring focus to “well being and well doing” and to ensure the continued transformation of our world.

Rebecca McLaren from ABC Radio interviewed me about the trip, and you can listen to it HERE

I’ll be keeping you in the loop from Nepal, stay posted!

With love and blessings,

Brigitte
