I started work on the Beyond the Smile story line.

As I arrange my index cards into the backbone of the story,

Heart wrenching news of the earthquake in Nepal trickle down

From social media and news reports.

The vision of wholesale loss of lives, homes and architectural treasures

Is too surreal to grasp from afar.

My heart is in Nepal, my body  and mind in Australia. At this stage, I can only hope that all dear ones are safe, and that the tragedies will bring together Nepali people and their government…. Now is the time for leadership, compassion, and investment in the people of Nepal. All of them.
